SEA LIFE Hunstanton

At SEA LIFE Hunstanton you’ll encounter some of the world’s most incredible animals, including huge sharks, sassy seals, mysterious stingrays, playful penguins, seahorses, thousands of tropical fish and much, much more. Hunstanton SEA LIFE Sanctuary is home to Norfolks only seal sanctuary open to visitors. You’ll be able to follow the journey of our injured seals through their rescue. Starting from local coastal waters, through rehabilitation and eventual release back into the wild!

Seal Rescue Centre & Hospital
The Wash and surrounding areas along the Norfolk coast is home to two species of seal, Common Seals and Grey Seals.
The population of Common Seals here alone has the greatest density than anywhere else in the country. Since opening our Seal Hospital in 1989 we have helped rescue and rehabilitate more than 750 seals. In the past 12 months alone SEA LIFE Hunstanton has rescued over 50 Seals from Norfolk and surrounding counties.

Ocean Tunnel
Our amazing Ocean display holds 187,500 litres of natural seawater and is home to over 30 amazingly different species of fish and our majestic Green Sea Turtle, Ernie!

Tropical Reef
Be prepared to be amazed as you come closer than ever before to an astonishing colourful assortment of creatures in our Tropical Reef displays filled with Blue Regal Tangs, Clown Fish and much more.

Rockpools are amazing micro-habitats full of incredible creatures! Are you brave enough to stroke a Sea Anemone, Starfish or Crab? Find out during your visit!

Underwater Viewing
Visit the outside seal enclosure and get a spectacular view from underwater. Get a closer look of our resident seals and learn about their individual stories at the seal feeding presentations throughout the day.

Penguin Beach
Don’t miss Penguin Beach, where you can learn how to waddle with our 20 mischievous and adorable Humboldt penguins. Watch out for the Inca Terns – ‘the birds with moustaches’ as they fly and dive above your head!

Otter River
Venture to our outdoor zones and get up close and personal with our resident Asian Short-Clawed Otters.Watch as they splash about in the Otter River and snack on her favourite treats – peanuts!

Mighty Amazon
Step out of the ocean and into the hot and humid rainforest to experience what life is like beneath the tropical treetops. Amazonia Rivers are home to some spectacular fish, amphibians & reptiles. Get a close look of the Piranhas with ruby-red bellies and see the menacing smile of a Cuvier’s Dwarf Caiman just snapping distance away.

Rainforest Ranger
Our team of friendly Rainforest Rangers are ready to show you some of their jungle beasties! If you have ever wanted to see a snake, lizard or a giant creepy crawly from the deepest depths of the jungle, now is your chance! Come just centimetres away from a royal python and race our colony of leafcutter ants to find the queen.
