A magical journey experience for all the family at Marwell this Christmas.
Festive Tree in Marwell Hall

We visited Marwell on 4th December 2011 with our three young children aged 5, 6 and 8. Our Christmas experience was booked for 2pm, so we arrived at 11am in plenty of time to explore the park and see all the animals, penguins, tigers, lemurs, crocodiles, giraffes and of course the children loved watching the meerkats. This was great and the children loved it, it was an added bonus before even starting the Christmas event.

We got to Marwell Hall and the children waited patiently with excitement at the igloo entrance before the door opened and our journey began. A friendly elf escorted us to the magical Ice Palace where more elves greeted us with spicy mulled wine for the adults, warm blackcurrant for the children and delicious mince pies for everyone. The children chatted happily to the elves and danced in the snow and jumped for joy when Mrs Claus gracefully entered the room.

Mrs Claus invited all the children into her library for a very entertaining storytelling and puppet show that held the children’s attention throughout. Mrs Claus performance was enchanting and very theatrical, she interacted with the children always keeping within her fun Mother Santa Claus character, and we loved it. When it finished the large library doors opened to reveal a festive room with a long wooden table prepared for gingerbread decorating. This was really good fun, each child had their own apron and hat to wear and were given icing and sweets to decorate their very own gingerbread man. They did very well with the decorating before scoffing every last bit.

Finally the waiting was over.....

"Thomas, Katie and Jessica" called the Elf.
I have never seen my children move so quickly! We followed the elf to Santa's room where Santa was sitting on his throne next to a festive Christmas tree. Santa chatted to each child before giving them a present. The children were all very pleased with their special gift from Santa and promised Santa they would keep their bedrooms tidy! Reluctantly we said goodbye to Santa and headed towards the magnificent Tudor Rose Hall for a photo with the cheeky Pickle the Penguin.

Our view - Professional and very organised. Value for money and a wonderful experience worth taking.
