This towering stately home and fortified castle has been the seat of the Dukes of Norfolk since 1067. It conceals a very fine collection of furniture, paintings, clocks, tapestries, armour and much, much more, including personal possessions of Mary, Queen of Scots. Wander in the tranquil grounds and chapel and stroll through the newly restored Victorian kitchen and flower gardens.

The imposing castle and barbican at Lewes, built shortly after the Norman invasion of 1066, tower over the county town, offering spectacular views from the top.
