We are delighted to let you know that entries for this year’s Cancer Research ‘Kids & Teens’Mini Mile Races are open. Places are limited to 3,000 and available first come, first served … so don’t delay!
One of their main partners, Gatwick Airport, will be once again covering the entry fee and giving children who might not have otherwise been able to, the opportunity to be a part of one of the largest youth races in the UK. Instead of paying an entry fee, entrants will be invited to make an optional donation to Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens.
The event is open to 7-17 years olds and gives over 2,000 youngsters a chance to experience and participate in the Brighton Marathon Weekend. Starting and finishing in Preston Park, the races take place over a one mile course within a race village complete with entertainment, stage, screen and food & drink. There is something for all the family to come along and enjoy.
Kids & Teens Mini Mile Races will take place on Saturday 14th April 2018.

The Sussex Santa Experience returns for the festive period and there’s so much to do! Greet the Head Elf at the Wonderland Walkway, pop into the Polar Post Sorting Office where you can write your letter to Santa, make your own Reindeer Food to take home and graduate from our NEW Reindeer Flying School, before meeting Santa himself and choosing a special surprise from the Elves’ Toy Shop.

Enjoy the magic and enchantment of Christmas at Drusillas Park between Saturday 18th November 2017 and Monday 1st January 2018 with the dazzling Winter Wonderland.
Visit Father Christmas in his cosy cottage and receive an early Christmas gift and don’t miss the magical illuminations; an animal themed light show synchronised to music! There will also be the chance to hug a husky and meet Santa’s reindeer on selected dates and enjoy hot doughnuts, a glass of mulled wine or a mince pie.

Join the spooky Halloween fun at West Dean Gardens near Chichester 25-29 October 2017 with the Halloween Trail, face painting and crafty fun to make scary masks, Halloween lanterns, hats and more. Explore the Gardens, completing the trail for a chocolate prize. The award-winning gardens and arboretum are full of the rich colours of autumn; it’s definitely worth a visit in October half term.
Complete your visit with lunch or a cream tea in the restaurant (children’s lunch menu £5.50). Breakfast is also served from 9am at weekends. This year, follow the exciting ‘Scavenger Hunt’ around the park and lucky little monsters will receive a Halloween prize…..it’s going to be FRIGHTFULLY FUN!

Wander down the Witchy Walkway and meet our real life Witches, get some temporary ink in our Terrible Tattoo Parlour, explore the spooky Halloween Maze, visit the Pumpkin Patch to get your free pumpkin and carve it on site with help from our staff (no mess at home)! Venture through the creepy cobwebbed corridors of Haunted Heights into the terror-tory of sin sisters, Hocus & Pocus as they play hide and shriek with the unsuspecting public!
Haunted Heights towers high above the skyline of Drusillas but deep at the heart of the derelict castle lies a ghostly secret. Thrill seekers are invited to knock on the trap door and discover the spook-tacular surprise within. Will you dare to get into the spirit of things?
Missing from the tomb of Eden’s Eye, an ancient Mummy has been seen wandering through the shadowy pathways of the twisted terror maze. Enter through the old temple ruins and unravel the mystery within…but take heed you don’t come to a dead end!
Creepy Crawly Encounters
Scuttle along to the Discovery Centre for some creepy crawly encounters throughout the week and meet some amazing mini monsters.The Discovery Centre, open between 10.30am and 4.30pm, will be swarming with weird insects, slimy molluscs, scary spiders and experts from the zoo team will be available to answer your questions.
Scooby-Doo – Wednesday 25th October
Crime solving Scooby-Doo will be coming to meet budding detectives at various intervals throughout the day. Come and investigate with the cowardly hero but don’t forget the Scooby snacks!
Fang-tastically frightening tattoos and face painting is available in the Parlour transforming little angels into witches, black cats and monsters.
